Discover the reason for goodness of A2 milk

The heritage of Desi Cows

India earlier had been always one of Richest countries both Health & Wealth wise. However, during 1960-1970s, the need of Milk rose quite substantially. This made way to import cows from other countries for e.g. HF & Jersey Cows. These are not our Native breeds & yield A1 Milk. In turn, Our Native Breeds started slowly to vanish out of our Indian Subcontinent. Few Desi breeds did sustain this Transition & are still the best cows from a Farmer point of View for e.g. Gir & hallikar Breed.

We at Vasundhare started to encourage Farmers to go for Desi cows as the maintenance would be less compared to Hybrid cows. That was when we started to supply A2 milk directly from farmers to end Consumer. Thus encouraging various go shalas to go for Desi cows.

India has an average of 30+ different Breeds of Desi cows. Few of them are

Gir from Gujarat

Sahiwal from haryana

Rathi from Rajasthan

Tharparkar from Sindh Region

Hallkiar from Southern Karnataka

Ongole from Andhra Pradesh

Desi cows are indeed a Boon to India which yield healthy & energy rich Milk when compared to hybrid cows.

Come do join us in this endeavour to review India's Native breeds!

Currently, we get milk from Gir, Tharparkar, Rathi cow breeds. These cows are well fed with most of the naturally grown Grass. We do not use any kind of Preservatives, harmone injections to increase the yield. We just deliver Milk as yeilded.
